Glenmore Sands can be found 7km north of Port Edward and about a 30 min drivesouth of Margate. The resort is on Glenmore Beach and has magnificent seaviews from most of our units.
The original Green DolphinHotel was constructed in the early 1900’s and was converted to self-cateringunits around 1983. The area around the restaurant and reception area isstill part of this original building. The collection of old photographsand artifacts makes for fascinating browsing .
Our well maintained gardensare home to a colony of Hyrax rock rabbits (Dassies) who are protected in thisarea as well as the regular visitors - Vervet Monkeys.
We can also boast abundantbird-life with resident Fish Eagles often seen perched on their vantage pointhigh in the branches of the dead trees along the Tongazi River. They areseen most often early in the morning or cloudy days.
Glenmore Sands is situatedon the renowned “Wild Coast” with its many shipwrecks, interested visitors cancollect pieces of porcelain or trader beads from these vessels which are stillwashed up onto the shore. Of course most often after storms and highseas. We have a framed example of the porcelain in our foyer.
